ReNew Power enables digital education for women in Madhya Pradesh’s Shujalpur district

• MP Education Minister Shri Inder Singh Parmar inaugurates computer lab

February 04 , 2022: : ReNew Power (“ReNew” or “the Company”) (NASDAQ: RNW, RNWWW), India’s leading renewable energy company, today dedicated a computer lab facility to the students of Jawaharlal Nehru Smriti PG College at Shujalpur in Madhya Pradesh. The modern computer lab was inaugurated by the state’s Minister of Education, Sh. Inder Singh Parmar, in presence of the district collector of Shajapur and ReNew officials.

The computer lab will help support access to digital education to 6,000 mainly rural women students at the institution, in line with the state government’s push for expanding the Digital India initiative of the Government of India.
Inaugurating the facility, the Sh. Inder Singh Parmar, hon’ble education minister said, “Madhya Pradesh under the leadership of hon’ble Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan ji and the hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi ji is dedicated to bring the benefits of digital education to the people of the state especially women and those in the more remote areas. This is the example of that dedication, and I am happy to note that corporates such as ReNew Power are taking such positive initiatives.”

This initiative reaffirms ReNew Power’s commitment to going beyond business and supporting communities through social responsibility programs which are sustainable, scalable, and replicable in nature. The company has, under its CSR program, has supported school electrification through solar rooftops in 27 rural government schools in various districts of the state.
ReNew has also supported vulnerable groups through relief activities during the COVID-19 pandemic, and recently distributed around 23,000 blankets across nine districts of Madhya Pradesh state under its Gift Warmth initiative, helping the underprivileged stay warm by providing blankets during the cold winters.

Speaking about the computer lab dedication and the company’s borader CSR and sustainability initiatives in Madhya Pradesh, Ms. Vaishali Nigam Sinha, Chief Sustainability Officer at ReNew Power said, “Access to quality education remains one of the fundamental challenges in our country and the situation has exacerbated following the COVID pandemic.
